Featuring Yashoda - vocals
Indo-Jazz-Fusion-Kirtan! A collection of devotional songs from India (Kirtan), presented in a World Fusion style. It was recorded in India, Poland and California and produced by Emam and Yashoda. Thanks to some amazing musical friends, this album brings together Indian classical music, Jazz, African sound, rhythms on tabla, dholak and dumbak with wonderful vocal melodies and harmonies from Yashoda. |
|
| Over the years, Yashoda and Emam have spent many months in Hairakhan, Maha Avatar Babaji's beautiful ashram, in the foothills of the Himalayas. Emam visited Hairakhan in 1978 for the first time and spent much time with Babaji prior to his Maha Samadhi in 1984. Yashoda visited Hairakhan in 1986, for the first time. The songs heard on this album, are their interpretations and arrangements of chants they learned at the ashram. The lyrics are powerful healing Sanskrit mantras, set to beautiful melodies and sung with much love and devotion. |
